Vehicles & Streets

179 sound effects for driving games and city scenes. At the heart of it: 58 seamless engine loops made for RPM blending (idle, low, mid and high, plus off-load loops for coasting) for 13 vehicles: a sports car, family car, muscle car V8, diesel truck, dirt bike, quad bike, go-kart, scooter, electric car, outboard boat, airboat, prop plane and helicopter, all levelled alike so a game can cross-fade them by engine speed. Around them: start-ups, shut-downs, revs, gear shifts, backfires, turbo spool and blow-off, horns; skids, tyre roll loops, brakes, landings, bumps, crashes, glass, metal scrapes and nitro; doors, boot, keys, seatbelt, indicator, wipers and alarm; a race countdown and lap chimes; and the street: traffic, highway and rain ambiences, Doppler pass-bys, a city bus, sirens and crossing beeps. As WAV and OGG, with ready GameMaker and Godot 4 projects, each with an engine demo you rev with the keyboard or a gamepad and a ready RPM helper, and every sound's Room 3D Sound Maker file.

  • 179 sounds: 58 engine loops, 46 vehicle one-shots, 26 driving, 15 car parts, 6 racing UI and 28 street sounds
  • 13 vehicles x idle, low, mid and high engine loops (off-load loops for 3)
  • 81 seamless loops; mono for vehicles, stereo for ambiences and pass-bys
  • WAV (44.1 kHz, 16-bit) and OGG, levelled alike, no clicks
  • GameMaker LTS 2026+: every sound, an engine RPM helper and demo rooms
  • Godot 4: every sound, an EngineSound node and demo scenes
  • Room 3D Sound Maker files to open and change every sound

Vehicles & Streets: the preview reel

About a minute and a half: each vehicle started and revved through its engine loops, fly-bys, skids, crashes and nitro, then doors, horns and the alarm, the race countdown and the street with its sirens and traffic.

Engine loops: 58 sounds

Idle, low, mid and high for 13 vehicles (sports car, family car, muscle car V8, diesel truck, dirt bike, quad bike, go-kart, scooter, electric car, outboard boat, airboat, prop plane, helicopter), plus off-load loops for coasting on the sports car, V8 and dirt bike. Each loop is made at a known rpm, so the helpers cross-fade and pitch them to any engine speed.

Vehicle one-shots: 46 sounds

Start-ups and shut-downs that run into the loops, revs, gear shifts, backfires, turbo spool and blow-off, the diesel's engine brake, air brake and air horn, a reversing beeper, the plane's and helicopter's fly-bys and a scooter horn.

Driving: 26 sounds

Skids on asphalt, gravel and dirt, a drifting squeal loop, tyre roll loops on four surfaces, brakes, handbrake, gravel spray, landings, bumps, light, medium and heavy crashes, glass, metal scraping and a nitro boost.

Car parts: 15 sounds

Doors, boot, keys, ignition fail, seatbelt, wipers and indicator loops, three horns, remote lock and a car alarm.

Racing UI: 6 sounds

Countdown beep, GO, checkpoint, lap, final lap and finish chimes.

Street: 28 sounds

Traffic (light and busy), distant highway, rainy street, car park and city-night ambiences; Doppler pass-bys of a car, sports car, truck, motorbike and bus; a city bus idling, kneeling and its doors; police, ambulance and fire sirens (loops and pass-bys); crossing beeps, distant horns, manhole clunks and a bike bell.

Engine notes

  • GameMaker (LTS 2026 and newer): open the project and run the engine demo, or copy the sounds and scr_engine into your game; engine_create([...loops], [...rpms]), engine_start(engine), then engine_set_rpm(engine, rpm, throttle) every step.
  • Godot 4.7: run the engine demo, or copy sounds/ and demo/engine_sound.gd, add an EngineSound node with its loops and rpms, then engine.set_rpm(rpm, throttle) every frame; player_3d or player_2d for an engine placed in the world.
  • Room 3D: open any .r3dsound in Window > Sound Maker (Room 3D 1.4 and newer), change it, then keep it in your project, save it to GameMaker or Godot, or export a WAV.
  • Any other engine: use the WAV or OGG files; the README explains the cross-fade (two loops either side of the rpm, equal-power gains, pitch = rpm / the loop's rpm).

License

  • One purchase covers one buyer: one person, or one company and the people working on its projects.
  • Use the sounds and the demo code in any number of games, apps, videos and other projects, free or commercial, on any platform.
  • Change them as much as you like. No credit required.
  • Ship them inside your games, and inside the Room 3D, Godot or GameMaker projects you make with them.
  • Don't sell or share the sounds on their own, or as a sound or asset pack, changed or not.

Questions

Do I need Room 3D?

No. The WAV and OGG files work in any engine, and the GameMaker and Godot projects work on their own. The .r3dsound files are extras for Room 3D's Sound Maker, where you can open and change each sound.

How do the engine loops work?

Each vehicle has four loops made at known rpms. Play them together and cross-fade between the two either side of the engine's rpm, pitching each to the engine's speed: the engine sounds right at every rpm, not only at four. The GameMaker and Godot helpers do this for you.

WAV or OGG?

Both are in the pack, with the same sounds. WAV is full quality and best for editing and for loops; OGG files are much smaller, handy for web and mobile builds.

Can I use them in a commercial game?

Yes, in any number of your own games, apps and videos, free or paid. You can't resell or share the sounds as a sound pack.

Is it in the Sound Bundle?

No, Vehicles & Streets is sold on its own ($7.99). The Guidry Games Sound Bundle has the first five sound packs for $23.99.

How do I get it after paying?
